THIS WE BELIEVE

Anne L. Lee: Employer Education Partnership  Coordinator
At the urging of business and industry professionals, the vision for business in education was developed to guide schools in the development of business education delivery systems to prepare students to enter and advance in the high technology business occupations of the twenty-first century.

The process for this vision began almost a year ago, when the California Business Education Steering Committee formed in June >97. This committee examined the status of Business Education in California and brainstormed a process for involving leaders in the State who could help design a vision for Business Education in California. Selected participants from business & industry and education convened at a Business Education Summit in August >97. At this summit a draft Belief Statement was developed with the help of Dr. Willard Daggett, President of the International Center for Leadership in Education. Participants at the Business and Marketing Education Symposium, November 6-7 also had an opportunity to participated in a Discovering the Vision process, facilitated by Dr. Daggett. The statement This we Believe is the result of the input of participants throughout this process.
